Introduction
For administrative purposes, HTCC must require that
the candidate personally complete this application. Applications
submitted on behalf of another individual cannot be accepted.
In the application, HTCC requires the attestation of accuracy
and truthfulness of all responses, including responses to
questions about sensitive personal information. HTCC also
requires acknowledgement that its rules and Disciplinary Policy
have been read, understood, and accepted personally by each
candidate. Submission of the application demands verification
that the preparer of the application be the CHT himself or
herself.
These are the steps that you should follow:
- Login into CHTs Only using your CHT ID#
- Click “Recertification Application” in the
left hand navigation pop-out in CHTs Only.
- Work experience and professional development hours that
have previously been approved by HTCC will be calculated
automatically. If the requirements have been met (2,000
hours of work experience and 80 contact hours of professional
development), you will be allowed to proceed with the application
process.
- If you have not entered and had these hours approved,
you will not be able to complete the application. In that
case, either enter the hours online or complete the paper
and pencil application.
- Next you will be asked to enter information about the
professional credential that allows you to practice in the
United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia or New Zealand.
This will include the type of credential held, who issues
it, the credential number, and the expiration date.
- You will be asked to complete an online consent form.
- You will then review and update the information HTCC has
for you in the database.
- Finally, you will be asked to pay the current online recertification
fee.
Your application will be processed within 7-10 working days
and you will receive email notification when it has been approved.
HTCC is performing random audits of the professional credential
information submitted. You will be notified within this 10-day
period if your application has been selected for auditing.
If you are chosen for a random audit, you will have 14 days
to submit a copy of the credential. Final approval of your
application will be performed after that information has been
received and approved.
You will be sent a new small CHT certificate and wallet ID
card in the fall.
Your new accrual cycle will begin the date your application
is approved and will expire on November 15th in five years for the next recertification
cycle.
