The Hand Therapy Certification Commission ("HTCC")
is dedicated to preserving users' on-line privacy. This website
only collects personally identifying information which a user
voluntarily provides when establishing a new user account,
making an on-line purchase, or using another on-line service
provided by HTCC. The collected information is used for technical
administration of this website and for completing the transaction
as requested or as permitted by the user. Except for the CHT
directory and mailing list from which users may opt out, HTCC
does not rent, sell, or distribute personally identifiable
information.
Collection of User Information:
In general, this website gathers information about
users as a group, such as which areas users visit most frequently
and what services users access the most. This website automatically
collects information about users' IP address, browser type,
domain name, date and time of access, and general location
(country of access). HTCC only uses such data in the aggregate
to analyze site traffic and to determine what is most relevant
to users.
In some instances, such as to create a user account, register
in the "Locate a CHT" database, or order a product,
HTCC requires personally identifying information from users.
Such information typically includes the user's name, address,
e-mail address, telephone number, and credit card information
(which is encrypted). HTCC uses this information for the purposes
of completing the transaction as requested by the user and
to make users aware of additional products and services that
may be of interest to them. From time to time, HTCC does disclose
personal information to outside parties through a mailing
list; however, this applies only to information contained
in the CHT registry of successful applicants (whether submitted
on-line or on paper). Should users prefer to not be contacted
regarding these additional products and services, they may
opt out by submitting an e-mail request to info@htcc.org or
support@thedigitalarchitects.com, or by indicating they wish
to be excluded from mailings on the CHT Profile Update form
in the CHTs Only section of www.htcc.org.
HTCC may also request additional information on a voluntary
basis from users, such as information regarding interests,
opinion of this website, and the types of products and information
in which users are interested. Such information is used only
to guide website improvements.
This website uses cookies only for login session purposes.
A user's personal and login information are connected only
for the purpose of providing "forgot password" service.
Disclosure of User Information:
HTCC generally does not disclose personal information
submitted by or regarding users of this website to any outside
parties, unless required by law or requested or permitted
to do so by the user. Should completion of a requested transaction
necessitate sharing information with another party, such as
a credit card company, HTCC endeavors to work only with partners
who adhere to a compatible privacy policy. Users should be
aware that by registering with the "Locate a CHT"
database, the user's name and place of employment will become
publicly available through the website.
Accuracy of Information:
HTCC seeks to ensure the accuracy of all user information.
Users may access, review, and edit their account information
at any time by logging in and going to their account page.
Security of Information:
HTCC protects users' personal information through
access controls and secure facilities. Access to user accounts
and database registrations is controlled by user IDs and passwords.
Sensitive information, including credit card numbers, is protected
with SSL encryption. User information is stored on equipment
that is physically and electronically safeguarded against
unauthorized access, use, and damage.
