HTCC is pleased to announce that HTCC will be able to offer the CHT exam at Prometric Test Centers in Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand in 2008. Eligible candidates will be able to make an appointment to test at the center of their choice.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible to take the examination,

• You must be an occupational therapist or physical therapist with a current professional credential to practice in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia, or New Zealand. Depending on your profession and where you practice, a professional credential may include a license, certificate, or registration. In all cases, it is the credential that you need to legally practice in that location. This credential must be active and you must be in good standing with the agency that issued it.
• You must have been credentialed on or before November 7, 2003
• You must have accrued a minimum of 4,000 hours of Direct Practice Experience in hand therapy, obtained in the United States (including its territories and military bases), Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia, or New Zealand, between August 15, 2003 and August 14, 2008.
  
  

HTCC Policies
HTCC has established the following additional policies regulating international testing:

• We prefer to provide Candidate Handbooks as a PDF via email or as a download as part of the online application process.
• We prefer that candidates apply online.
• Funds must be in US dollars (using credit cards).
• Refunds will be given only to credit cards.
• Since the exam will now be administered via computer, there is no longer a minimum number of candidates required to test.

Australian Steering Committee
HTCC is working closely with a steering committee of Australian hand therapists in preparation for the administration of the exam. The Steering Committee is organizing study groups in Australia.
