| Beginning in 2008, the Hand Therapy Certification Examination will delivered via computer over a two-day window at Prometric Test Centers worldwide.
Candidates must first be determined to be eligible to take the examination. Once they are eligible, HTCC will send the eligibility file to Prometric. Prometric will then issue an authorization to test number. This number will be emailed to the candidates, who then will make an appointment to test at a Prometric test site on the day and time desired. It will take approximately 10 working days from the time a candidate's application is complete to receive an authorization to test number. Please note that candidates will be responsible for making their own testing appointment on the weekend the exam is given. HTCC will no longer assign test sites.
Special
Accommodations
If you require special accommodations in order to sit for the examination,
you and
your health care provider will need to complete a form to
document the disability and the need for accommodation. You
must submit two forms with your application: the Candidate
Form and the Provider Form.
These forms require you to provide the:
- Diagnosis and nature of the disability,
- Name of tests used to evaluate the condition,
- Length of the condition,
- Date the you were last seen, and
- What accommodation is suggested.
The completed forms
and accompanying documentation must be submitted wtih your application. Once you have been determined to be eligible to take the test and have been issued an Authorization to Test (ATT) Letter, special accommodations cannot be added.
There is no additional charge for special accommodations.
Each request will be evaluated individually, and a letter
will be sent to you outlining the accommodations with your ATT letter.
Please contact the HTCC office if you have any questions regarding special accommodations. HTCC wants to be sure that that candidates have the accommodations they need.
