Keri Landrieu, LOTR, CHT
Treasurer
Keri
Landrieu is the co-owner of the Hand Rehabilitation Center,
Inc in New Orleans, Louisiana. Keri and co-owner, Bonnie T.
Lucio, established The Hand Rehabilitation Center, Inc. in
1993. This private practice was the first of its type in the
New Orleans area. They were also the first to provide private
occupational therapy to the Medicare population in Louisiana.
Keri enjoys treating patients and managing The Hand Rehabilitation
Center, Inc. She is always on the go with 6 clinic locations
and 10 therapists – not to mention 4 small children.
For the past 13 years, Keri has treated hand and upper extremity
patients. She became interested in hand therapy while in therapy
school at Louisiana State University Medical Center. There
in the cadaver lab she was intrigued by the biomechanics and
function of the anatomical parts of the hand. Upon graduation
from therapy school, she took a six month Hand Therapy Fellowship
under the tutelage of hand surgeon Harold M. Stokes. She was
taught the benefits of a collaborative effort between surgeon
and therapist in order to achieve the best outcome. This fellowship
and enthusiastic instruction by Dr. Stokes nurtured Keri’s
fascination of the hand and firmly established her career
choice of hand therapy.
Through her career, Keri has been involved with the American
Society of Hand Therapists on both a national and state level.
She has published research in the area of grip strength and
effort. She also enjoys lecturing on hand therapy to students,
physicians, and colleagues. Keri has served two terms as an
item writer for The Hand Therapy Certification Commission,
and she has served on the Examination Committee since 1999.
In 2002, Keri was elected to the HTCC board.
